What is a private lesson?
Private ski o snowboard lessons offer an individualized approach, where an instructor works exclusively with you or your group. This allows for personalized attention and faster progress, as the instructor can tailor the lessons to your specific needs and skill level.
Where is the Snowmotion Sierra Nevada shop?
We are located in Plaza Andalucía, in the building Enebro, local 8. In Sierra Nevada. Just in front of the Cetursa ticket office.
How far are the cable cars from the shop?
Both the Al-Andalus and Borreguiles gondola lifts are just a few metres from our Snowmotion shop. A few minutes walk away.
How long is a ski or snowboard lesson?
We recommend a minimum of 2-3 hours of ski or snowboard lessons, both for beginners and those looking to improve their technique.
Where do I pick up the children at the end of the lessons?
The meeting point and end point for the lessons is the same, our Snowmotion office in Borreguiles.
Do I need a ski pass to access the slopes?
The forfait is the pass needed to take the gondola lift and access the slopes. Everyone needs this pass, regardless of age.
Can I buy the ski pass with Snowmotion?
You can buy the ski pass on our website and request the collection point at the Snowmotion Sierra Nevada shop.
What is the half-day ski pass?
The half day ski pass allows access to the slopes from 13:00h until the slopes close.
Is any insurance included in the price of the ski pass?
The price of the ski pass and the ticket includes Compulsory Passenger Insurance (S.O.V.) and V.A.T.; as it is a transport ticket.
What does the full equipment rental include?
The full equipment hire includes, depending on the type of equipment: For skiing: boots, poles and skis. For snowboarding: boots and board.
Is the helmet included in the equipment rental?
Helmet rental is included for children under the age of 13 who do not exceed 39 cm in height or 1.50 m in height.
Is it compulsory to rent a helmet?
Helmet hire is not compulsory but it is recommended for safety reasons, especially for people with less experience on snow and for children.
What clothing should I bring to the lessons?
Skiing and snowboarding take place in the mountains, so it is important to wear warm, waterproof clothing. It is also important to bring sunglasses and goggles, gloves and sunscreen.
From what age can I take lessons?
Skiing and snowboarding lessons are available from the age of 3. We offer group ski lessons from the age of 3 (Chikimotion) and group snowboard lessons from the age of 9. We always offer the possibility to book private lessons.
Do I need to book ski or snowboard lessons?
We recommend booking in advance so that we can offer more availability of dates and times. If you would like to book lessons once you are in the Sierra Nevada, we will be happy to help you and inform you about the availability of lessons on the same day.
How far in advance do I need to be in Sierra Nevada to pick up the equipment?
We recommend being at our Snowmotion shop at least one and a half hours before your lesson time. Remember that on holidays and weekends, there are more people in Sierra Nevada.
How early should I be at the meeting point for the lessons?
We recommend being at least 10 minutes in advance at our office in Borreguiles.
What time do the private ski or snowboard lessons start?
Lessons will start at 9:00h, 9:45h, 11:45h, 12:45h and 13:45h.
How many hours of ski or snowboard lessons are recommended?
We recommend a minimum of 2 or 3 hours of lessons both for beginners and to improve your technique. You will get better results and progress is better.
When I book private lessons, is equipment rental included?
Equipment hire is not included in the price of private lessons, but you can hire it with us if you don't have your own. If you book private ski or snowboard lessons you can benefit from a 10% discount when you book your equipment.

Snowmotion has English, French and Portuguese speaking instructors. Always under availability.
What time do the group ski or snowboard lessons start?
Normally the group lessons start at 11:45 am. In exceptional cases, they may start earlier if it is a closed group, subject to availability.
Is the equipment rental included when booking group lessons?
Our group lessons include equipment hire. For skiing: boots, poles and skis. For snowboarding: boots and board.
In which languages can group ski or snowboard lessons be given?
Group lessons are in Spanish. On exceptional occasions, groups can be formed in English or Portuguese, provided that it is a closed group and subject to availability on special dates.
How many people are in a group lesson?
The maximum number of people per group is 7.
How many hours are the group lessons?
Snowmotion offers group lessons of 2, 3 and 4 hours per day.
What happens if the minimum number of participants for the group lessons is not reached?
If the number of participants is less than 3 people for the selected dates, the lesson can be reduced to half the time.
What is Chikimotion?
Chikimotion offers group ski lessons for children. An excellent option for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. The lessons are 4 hours long and can be given either from 9am to 1pm or from 1pm to 5pm. They include the hire of ski equipment (boots, poles, skis and helmet) and free ski instructor accompaniment service from the shop.
What are the Club Days?
The Snowmotion Club Days consist of spending a day in Sierra Nevada enjoying winter sports, skiing or snowboarding. There are already some schools and sports clubs that guarantee every month a beautiful experience and a day in the mountains with friends and colleagues, advised and accompanied at all times by our professionals and coordinators of our school.
How do I know my skiing level?
It is important that you let us know your level of skiing or snowboarding so that we can offer you the best options. Below are the different levels: Level 0 - Beginner: First experience on snow. They learn how to balance, brake and glide. Level A - Beginner: Skiing on the carpets of the green slopes getting to control speed and braking using the wedge. Level A+ - Intermediate: Able to ski wedge turns on the green runs. Level B - Intermediate: Fundamental turn. Wedge turn initiation finishing parallel on easy green and blue runs. Level B+ - Advanced: Fundamental turn perfected. Start of turn with a small wedge ending parallel. Blue runways. Level C - Advanced: Basic skidding parallel turns. Blue and red tracks. Level C+ - Expert: Parallel turns for improvement. Beginning driving and short turns. Red and black tracks. Level D - Expert: Short parallel skiing, slalom turns and driven turns. Black runs. Level E - Expert: Improvement.
What is the difference between a mid-range, high-end or premium equipment rental?
To know which range to choose, you need to take into account your level and experience on snow. - Mid-range equipment is recommended if you are only going to ski occasionally, especially if you are a beginner or intermediate skier. - High-range and premium equipment is recommended for advanced skiers.
Can I rent extra equipment and clothing in the shop?
In our Snowmotion shop you can rent the equipment you need such as: helmet, goggles, gloves, trousers and jacket.
Is the ski storage service included in the equipment rental?
The ski storage service is free of charge for all those who book a rental with Snowmotion. For those who only book lessons and have their own equipment, the price of ski storage is 5€ per person per night. For those who want the ski storage service for the whole season, including maintenance, the price is 250€ per person.
Can adults and children go together in private ski or snowboard lessons?
We recommend that they go separately, because a different teaching methodology is used. Children need more attention from the teacher and a different language based on play and fun. Lesson time is better used if the levels of the pupils are similar.
Can skiing and snowboarding lessons take place at the same time?
Lessons are organised by modality (ski or snowboard) and level. The same teacher cannot teach skiing and snowboarding at the same time, you have to choose a mode.
Can people of different levels take the same lesson at the same time?
We recommend not mixing levels in the same class and in the event that this happens, the teacher will always adapt to the student with the lowest level.
How do I book ski or snowboard lessons?
Once the lessons have been confirmed we will send you a confirmation link and payment of the deposit for your booking.
What happens if I am late?
In case of late arrival or no-show, it will not be possible to make up the time or request a refund. A refund will only be given if the class is cancelled at least 48 hours in advance, for justified reasons of force majeure such as injury or illness or if the station remains closed.
Which payment methods are accepted?
You can pay the deposit by bank card, bizum or bank transfer. Once you are in the shop, you can pay by bank card, bizum or cash.
Does Snowmotion have a workshop service?
Yes, we have a private workshop. You can come to our shop in Sierra Nevada and our colleagues will help you with everything you need. The prices depend on the services you need, so we recommend you to come to the shop so you can see in person the state of each equipment.
Does Snowmotion manage accommodation in Sierra Nevada?
As an agency we manage several services including accommodation in hotels and apartments in Sierra Nevada. In addition, if you are an individual or group client, you can also ask us about options in the city of Granada.
How to get to the Sierra Nevada from Granada?
From Granada to Sierra Nevada can be reached by car on one of the highest roads in Europe in about 40-45 minutes. On the A-395, we find the resort at km 31. From Granada it is a distance of 31 km. You can also get there by bus, there is a bus line from Granada to Sierra Nevada. Price one way and return: 9 €. Price one way: 5 €. You can find more information on the ALSA website.
Does Snowmotion have summer activities?
Snowmotion organises multi-adventure camps in the summer months. The camps can be for seven or 10 days. Children can enjoy exciting activities such as climbing, zip-lining, archery, hiking, among others. All these activities are supervised by highly trained instructors, who guarantee the safety and well-being of the participants at all times.
Is a ski pass necessary to access the slopes?
You need a ski pass to ride the lift and hit the slopes. Everyone needs one, no matter how old you are. Click here to buy your pass.

What equipment do you need for your ski lessons in Sierra Nevada?
To make the most of your ski lessons in Sierra Nevada, Snowmotion offers a complete ski rental service. From skis and poles to helmets and boots, everything you need is available at our shop. Additionally, if you don't have the right clothing for the snow, you can rent thermal wear, gloves, and goggles.
